In this talk, a few topics related to fault detection andestimation will be presented. State of the art of fault diagnosis is firstintroduced and observer-based fault detection and estimation will be emphasizedbecause identified/estimated system states and faults in real time could beused for fault-tolerant control. Particularly, methods for robust faultdetection and estimation in uncertain systems will be paid extra attention.Unknown Input Observers (UIOs) and Learning Observers are two extremelyimportant tools to perform robust fault detection and estimation. Applicationsof observer-based fault-diagnostic methods to energy storage systems will bediscussed in details.

主讲人简介：

        陈文博士于2004年毕业于Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC, Canada，2005-2007年他在路易斯安娜大学拉法叶分校(University of Louisianaat Lafayette)从事了两年博士后研究。而后, 他在德克萨斯州休斯顿市一家国际级大公司Invensys-Triconex作为控制系统工程师. 陈文博士于2009年加入了美国韦恩州立大学工程技术系任助理教授至今。他的研究兴趣包括系统故障诊断与控制. 陈文博士曾经主持和参与了美国航空航天管理局和美国国家自然基金等重大项目开发与研究。陈文博士已发表超过70篇杂志和会议论文. 自从2011年至今他已连续四年获得由学生投票决定的工程技术系教学奖，2013年他又赢得工程学院教学奖。
