主讲人简介:

Dr Brett Nener is a professor at the University of Western Australia (UWA), a world top-100 university and is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He has been the Head of the School of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering, and Deputy Dean (International) for the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics. He has a Master of Science in Communication Engineering from the University of Tokyo and took his PhD on Cat Retinal Ganglion Cells in the School of Ophthalmology at the UWA. He has held visiting professor positions at the US Navy Labs in San Diego, University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), Southeast University  (Nanjing, China) and the University of Electronic Science and Technology (Chengdu, China). In the last decade he has been working on III-Nitride HEMT devices in collaboration with UCSB, and recently, with the Western Australian Medical Research Institute, has been focusing on biosensors.

讲座内容简介

Many electronic systems involve collecting signals from transducers and sensors, conditioning the signal, most often into a digital form. However, regardless of how good the digital methods are, if the original signal contains too much noise the signal can be difficult to recover. There is no doubt that digital signal processing has revolutionized circuit design.  However, the world is analog and there is a need to interface the analog with the digital. In order to do this, the system designer needs to take into account the effect of electronic noise. These lectures will introduce the effects of noise in circuits, describe ways of modeling the noise in devices and indicate ways to reduce the effects of noise on performance.
