土木工程系学术报告——Use of Hexcrete Technology to Increase Wind Power Production

应土木工程系邀请,美国爱荷华大学工程学院Sri Sritharan教授将于630日至72日到我校访问,期间作有关超高强度混凝土组合风电塔架技术的学术报告,欢迎感兴趣的学生和老师参加。

报告题目:Use of Hexcrete Technology to Increase Wind Power Production

主要内容:Wind power, which led the available technologies in new power generation in 2015, is the fastest growing source of electricity in the world today. In 2015, about 63 GW of wind power was added, bringing the total installed global wind energy capacity above 430 GW. Asia, Europe, and North America are responsible for 95% of the installed wind power, while the growth of wind energy in Africa, Middle East, Latin America and Pacific region are relatively low.  China added 29 GW in 2015 and 24 GW in 2016 to elevate its installed wind power to 169 GW, which represents about 34% of the installed capacity worldwide.  The wind energy is expected to grow continuously and reach nearly 800 GW by 2020. Despite the growth in installed wind power, the gain in capacity factor of wind farms has not increased significantly. In recent years, advancements have been made to increase the capacity factor and reduce the cost of wind energy. This presentation will introduce the Hexcrete technology in detail that has been developed as a means to use taller wind turbine towers with a hub height in the range of 100 to 140 m, thereby increasing the capacity factor and reducing the levelized cost of energy.  Other benefits of using taller wind turbine towers and a commercialization plan of the Hexcrete technology will also be discussed.          

 

主讲人简介:Sri Sritharan教授,美国爱荷华州立大学终身教授,工程学院副院长,博士生导师。Sritharan教授的主要研究方向包括结构抗震设计,预应力混凝土结构体系,超高性能混凝土结构,土—桩—结构相互作用,结构抗风等。他是美国混凝土协会(ACI)委员会341(混凝土桥梁抗震)前任主席、委员,和委员会447(混凝土结构有限元分析)委员;他也是很多世界知名学术协会和组织的副主编,编委和活跃会员,包括美国土木工程学会(ASCE),美国混凝土协会(ACI),美国预制混凝土协会(PCI),美国地震工程模拟联盟(NEES)等。Sritharan教授主持参与了60余项科研项目,累计科研经费达一千六百万美元($16,000,000)。科研经费来自于美国国家自然科学基金(NSF),美国能源部(DOE),联邦公路管理局(FHWA),加州交通厅(Caltrans),爱荷华公路研究委员会(IHRB),爱荷华州交通厅(Iowa DOT)等。在许多国际顶级刊物上发表100余篇SCI检索、引用率和影响力高的论文,是结构抗震和预应力结构体系领域国际顶尖专家学者。
